Les absents

I am very happy to offer you my new series of glazed stoneware wall tiles “Les absents”.
The traces and imprints of objects evoke an absence while summoning a singular presence.

The series “Les absents” was born from an end-of-study artistic project, I appropriated memories of a person in my family whom I never knew.

I worked on the imprint of my grandmother’s everyday objects, like a shroud, the clay covers the shapes.

  • Handcrafted: the tiles are made in the workshop, in plaster molds, the glaze is applied by hand.
    The gesture is designed so that the glaze covers the entire piece in order to protect it.
    Each piece is unique, there will always be variations depending on the photos on the site.
  • Characteristics: Glazed stoneware fired at 1080°C – Made entirely by hand – Dimensions: 20cm x 20cm x 0.5cm
  • Maintenance: Easy maintenance with a damp sponge.
